Baked Apples

Is it normal for the apples to go wrinkly? Because it’s my first time making these. The black ones are raisins, by the way. Who knew they would puff up? Anyway these are good. There are fruits, nuts, and oats. A very healthy snack indeed. Didn’t know how to eat it so I had to use a knife and fork.

Here’s a video of this recipe. Get ready for a Disney vibe! P.S. I don’t own anything of this Disney recipe and give the owner credits.

Snow White Inspired Baked Magic Wishing Apples Recipe
• 7 apples
• 1 cup rolled oats
• ½ cup dried apricots
• ½ cup dried cranberries, unsweetened
• ½ cup almonds, slivered
• 3 tbsp light coconut milk
• 4 tsp brown sugar
• ¼ tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp cloves
• ¼ tsp nutmeg

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Wash your apples and core with a melon baller, being careful not to go all the way through to the bottom. With a vegetable peeler, remove the top half of the apple’s skin and place them in a baking dish.

3. In a bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, almonds, apricots, cranberries, light coconut milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

4. Fill each apple with the oat mixture and bake in your preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until the apples are soft. Let cool for 15 minutes and enjoy!

Apple and Blueberry Crumble

Am pretty proud of myself when I caught this pic. Apple and blueberry? My two favorite things! And the crumble mix really adds an extra “crunch” to it.

This is by Barry Lewis from My Virgin Kitchen. Check out his site for more yummy goodness:

Before I start I let you know first that I work as a food server in a fancy hospital. Some entrances require access so I need a card to get in. But now I do. Wooo! I got my access card! I can go wherever the hell I want!

Well except the main kitchen which is ironic.

Whew. So much cookin’ for such a nice pasta. But note to self: Never put leftover pasta on top because it’s such a waste.

Delicious. Double delicious. Tried this from this post:

Damn right. So night everyone. Off to dreamland 😉

Blueberry Cheesecake

My second attempt at baking a cheesecake. My first was when it was burned and its center sunk. That was not a good night. I cried on the inside. And how I clumsily removed it from a HOT non-springform pan. But now…I achieve perfect perfectness.

Short Stories

~Poppin’ Macaroni~

It was during an assessment on culinary and our teachers and assessors are watching what we’re doing. The time was limited so, in a hurry, I tried opening a packaged macaroni by hand because I didn’t see any scissors nearby or because some of my classmates are using it. Opening so hard…pop! A few macaronis came out like fireworks. I quickly grabbed them and put it on my station. I knew one teacher who was observing me gettin’ that uncooked pasta. Checking to see if I’m doing it right. After that thing happened it felt like he’s glaring hot eyes behind my back, or judging whether I live or die.

~Mystery Scars~

You know those tiny scars you get from out of nowhere and wonder how you got ’em?

~Tang Tongue Friend~

I have this addiction of licking a spoonful of Tang (powdered orange juice drink). I always thought I’m the only one who does this…until I saw my best friend doing it, too.

Friendship, yeah!

~What do you call a fear of touching cold metal door handles?~

Where I work we bring food on a metal trolley all day in an entire super air conditioned building. And of course the elevators are metal and the handles of the doors are also metal and so we have to use ’em all by haaand. Cold + metal = SPARKS!

From that moment on I slowly reach for the cold touch of such metal objects.

~I Shouldn’t Be Alive~

I remember when I was in high school I went home on a rainy day and wore a cheap pair of black shoes. There was a flood that is ankle deep and dunno where or what to step on. Well I did step onto something. Something sharp. I rushed immediately to the house and checked what it was. I was shocked cuz there was a small nail. Luckily it didn’t went through.

~Food is Lonely~

You know sometimes the food you’re eating is not happy to eat? I know we should be grateful of having food but sometimes it’s just not fun. Especially if you’re on break from work. If food is bad then you should feel bad.

VIP Decs by the Door…ONLY

So I work in a hospital as a Food Server and our job is to…serve food to the patients’ rooms and other departments. We got this 6th Floor for VIPs and well…ang bongga naman ng decoration sa labas ng pinto nila. Pinto lang ha? (The decorations outside their door is so stylish. Only the door, ok?). I saw this one with cute wittle rocking chair with a Teddy bear sittin’ on it, a big basket of REAL flowers, ribbons, picture frames, and other baby ornaments. All these…for a baby VIP.

School Trip & The Lucky Kid

Once upon a time, when I was in Grade 6, we had a school trip to a zoo and a soda factory.

We suppose to take pictures with animals and write information about them for our Science project. My friend warned me about the zoo’s smell (because it was my first time) and she was right. Like, first step at the entrance and the zoo’s odor welcomed me. Took a few pics because a lot of crowd on some animals that my schoolmates like to pose with and I was like “Ugh! Hurry up!”.

Oh…and there was a mini museum. It has really nice swords.  pirate-sword

Our next adventure. Just walking along and observing. I was quiet the whole time while the others go “Ooo” and “Aaa. One particular girl (that I don’t like) had a friend there from church who works there and…yep. Anyway after the tour we were given complimentary snacks.

We were all so happy. But a boy got lucky. He got a big box of chips and I was like…

We got, like, three, and he gets a whole freaking box?! That’s unfair right there. But he didn’t kept it all to himself. Some of his bros asked for one so he gave them.
